More Inspiration - Nathan Sykes - Kiss Me Quick
Watching the music video of this song definitely gave me some ideas for the music video me and my team-mate are going to create later on. I find the concept of the video quite cool as it is set in a studio with a white backdrop, it has such a 'classy' feel to it, and even though the visuals don't match the lyrics of the song Simon Frith's theory of performance has been applied as the artist is 'performing' to the camera and there is also slight choreography within the video. When it comes to filming my music video i aim to do part of it in a studio with a white-backdrop and most probably have the artist wearing black and white.

R&B Genre Conventions - Shopping List
Justin Timberlake's 'What you got' is an R&B song, therefore when we create our music video we have to ensure that we follow most the conventions of the R&B genre, this is so the video appeals to the stereotypical audience of R&B. Below is a list that I have created containing some the typical conventions that you would have in the R&B genre. Me and my team-mate Esther will aim to use as many of these conventions as possible when filming our video.
- Objectification of women, seen as a sexual object
- Dominant male, usually singing about women
- Location is typically; club, bedroom, pent-house/mansion, city/street
- Costume; MALE - Men are usually seen as topless, jeans, jewellery and tattoos are also used in fashion. FEMALE - women usually wear minimal clothing, heels and jewellery also used in fashion.
- Close-up shots, wide-angle shots, long-shots, camera movement
- Usually an element of performance such as lip-synching and choreography. R&B videos also tend to have a narrative - therefore the main artist would usually have an artist featuring.

Target Audience
The target audience for our chosen song by Justin Timberlake will be 15-24 year olds who enjoy the RnB Genre. Our music video will primarily attract a majority of females that males as there will be a male lead in the music video. The youth will be attracted to the concept and narrative of the video as it has quite a playful and fun vibe to it that many can relate to.

Music Video Questionnaire.
For my research, I carried out a Music Video Questionnaire whereby I asked 10 students in my college ranging between the ages 16-19. This helped me with my research and planning as I gained helpful information from a various number of people with different personalities and interests.
